Many people believe that higher prices for beauty products lead to better results on their skin. When it comes to Japanese beauty products, this isn’t necessarily true.
There is no doubt that high-end brand cosmetics are usually of good quality (and that the stores provide excellent customer service), but Japanese drugstores also offer a wide variety of amazing beauty products.
You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have quality cosmetics if you find one that suits your skin type, especially dry sensitive skin. The brand HADA LABO, for instance, is affordable and still effective, and its products might tick all the boxes. It is considered to be the best-selling skincare product in Japan. HADA LABO:
HADA LABO is a Japanese drugstore cosmetic brand manufactured by ROHTO, a major pharmaceutical company. HADA LABO offers a variety of moisturizing skin care products, including face wash, toner, moisturizer, all-in-one gel, face masks, and more.
The cost of each product is around 11 to 15 pounds (or at least this is how much I bought mine :D). Considering they are extremely effective and work wonders on the skin, it is incredible!
Again, the brand offers a wide variety of products, from gels to moisturisers to sunscreen. HADA LABO certainly has a lot to offer! But for the sake and purpose of this post, let’s focus on the lotion version as I like to call it lol!
For each of these lotion types, there are numerous variations available to meet the needs of different skin types. But what’s surprising and good to hear is that they are all suitable for dry and sensitive skin!

For years, Gokujyun Hydrating Lotion has been a top-selling facial toner in Japan
Gokujyun, the brand’s signature skincare series, is infused with Super Hyaluronic Acid, which provides intense hydration and keeps the skin smooth and moisturized. There are no oils, alcohols, or additives in these products, so they can be used by anyone with sensitive skin.
As part of the line-up, there are face washes, toners, emulsions, creams, serums, and masks.
The regular type (red) is suitable for normal to dry skin, while the light type (green) is suitable for combination skin.

The Medicated Gokujyun Skin Care Conditioner
The Medicated Gokujyun Skin Care Conditioner is a wipe-off type skin toner that contains job’s tears extract and hyaluronic acid to fight acne by cleansing excess sebum and dirt within pores. This conditioner is currently not available but it should be soon.
– Whitening series: Shirojyun
By combining hydration with whitening, Shirojyun is a whitening/brightening range from HADA LABO. Shirojyun skincare series includes three products: toner, emulsion and cream which contain arbutin, an effective whitening ingredient that assists in decreasing melanin production to prevent freckles and dark spots. Hydration and health are also provided by hyaluronic acid and vitamins.

They also offer the premium version which is the highest concentration version that contains active ingredients with anti-inflammatory action as well as moisturising ingredients.
Shirojyun Premium is a medicated skin care line recommended for acne-prone skin.

– Anti-Aging series: Gokujyun
It is highly effective for treating anti-ageing skin blemishes. Combining 3D hyaluronic acid, low molecular weight collagen, and elastin, the products provide deep moisturization and a smooth and firm appearance. The ingredients in these products also prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

Light Moist Premium – quick overview
For each hada labo series there available the light and the moist and premium version.

The light one has a fluid consistency like water (slightly more viscous than water). It has the consistency of pure water. When compared to the Light version, the Moist version has a higher viscosity, is slightly thicker, and has a moisturizing effect. The premium version tends to be stronger in its effectiveness.
My experience with the ones that I have bought:
A product with this level of effectiveness and price has never been available before to me. Due to the size of the product, it lasts quite a while! It can last for months!!!

They are not bad at all, and they helped improve my skin but I will review each one of them in future posts! 😉
To conclude, as far as I am concerned, HADA LABO’s skin care products are an amazing value for the price since they provide great results!
