Benefits of Cerave moisturising Lotion
CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion offers the following benefits:
- Repairs the Skin Barrier. The CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion contains ceramides, which repair the skin’s barrier function.
- Hydrates the Skin. The CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion contains hyaluronic acid, which helps to keep the skin hydrated for a long time. As a result, it is an excellent choice for people with dry skin or those who suffer from occasional dryness.
- Fragrance-Free. As CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is fragrance-free, it is ideal for people with sensitive skin or allergic reactions.
- Non-Greasy Formula. The lotion absorbs easily into the skin without leaving a greasy or heavy residue. Because of this, it is an excellent choice for people who prefer a lighter moisturizer, especially during the summer. Like me 🙂 More of it later!
- Non-Comedogenic. Non-comedogenic means that the lotion doesn’t clog pores. Those with acne-prone skin or who are concerned about breakouts will find it a great choice.
- Suitable for All Skin Types. All skin types can benefit from CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion, including normal, dry, oily, and sensitive skin.
- Affordable. Compared to many other moisturizers on the market, CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is an affordable option. People who want a high-quality moisturizer at a reasonable price will find this to be an excellent option.
My experience with the product:
I have noticed that it is very light on my skin and doesn’t feel thick like a moisturizing cream. As far as I can remember, I only used it for a couple of weeks, as it was winter at the time, and not summer.
However, I generally liked it despite preferring the thicker, moisturising cream version for some reason.
Using my own experience as a basis, let’s discuss the pros and cons.
Pros of CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion 🙂
- Hydrates and protects the skin: This lotion contains three ceramides that help restore and maintain the skin’s barrier, preventing moisture loss and irritation. Those with sensitive skin and dry skin are more likely to suffer from compromised skin barriers. Additionally, the lotion contains hyaluronic acid, a humectant that draws moisture to the skin. My skin would feel hydrated for quite some time after applying the lotion every time.
- Lightweight and non-greasy texture: One of the most appealing aspects of CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is its lightweight, non-greasy texture. When applied to my skin, the lotion was easily absorbed by the skin and did not leave a heavy or greasy residue.
- Fragrance-free and non-comedogenic: CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is fragrance-free, which is great for sensitive skin like mine and I did not have to worry about harsh chemicals or anything like that. As an added benefit, the lotion is non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog pores.
- Affordable: I had to include this aspect on my pros list! This product is not only affordable, but it is also very effective and even cheaper than the cream version.
Cons of CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion 🙁
- Extremely dry skin may not be sufficiently hydrated by this product: Even though CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is hydrating, I found that it was less effective because I suffer from very dry skin. Often, I prefer creams over lotions, since creams are heavier and provide better moisturizing.
- Methylparaben is present in this product: What I do not like about the lotion is the fact that it contains methylparaben, a preservative commonly used in cosmetics.
Is CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion recommended for people with dry and sensitive skin?
CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is suitable for dry and sensitive skin.- and yes it is recommended. Here’s why:
This cream contains ceramides that help maintain the skin’s natural barrier and hyaluronic acid that hydrates and protects the skin.
Additionally, it is fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. Those are all fantastic aspects that make it a great choice for people with dry and sensitive skin.
Is the CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion better to be used in summer or winter?
The use of CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion can be beneficial in both summer and winter, depending on the individual’s skin type and needs. I however personally would use it during summer given its lighter formula. During winter I always go for the cerave moisturizing cream since it’s thicker.
Though the choice between the two comes down to personal preference and the individual needs of your skin. If you prefer a lighter texture and are looking for an all-over body moisturizer, CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion may be the better choice for you.
However, if you have extremely dry or sensitive skin, or need a more intense moisturizer for your face and hands, CeraVe Moisturizing Cream may be the better option (check the review).

Do I personally recommend the product?
I would say yes. The main reason is that it is the same for people with dry and sensitive skin. Additionally, it has an effective formula, a gentle nature, and an affordable price.
Since I struggle with dry or sensitive skin, I did notice an improvement after using this lotion. It provides long-lasting hydration and I have noticed that my skin feels softer and smoother.
However, I prefer the cream version to this since it hydrates better in my opinion, and I couldn’t use the lotion on my body, as it wasn’t as effective.
To conclude, CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is a great choice for people with dry and sensitive skin. People love it for its ability to treat dry and damaged skin, its non-greasy formula, its fragrance-free, non-comedogenic formula, its suitability for all skin types, and its affordability.
Although I’d rather use it in the summer rather than the winter, CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is not limited to a specific season.
Having said that, if you have dry or sensitive skin and are looking for an effective, gentle, and affordable moisturizer, this lotion is worth considering! 😉 You can shop yours at Boots.com
