To start with, CeraVe is one of the most well-known brands in the skincare community. The company prides itself on being dermatologists’ top recommendation for skincare.
Their products are designed to treat skin conditions like acne, psoriasis, and dryness. CeraVe offers everything you need, from moisturizers that offer anti-ageing properties to cleansing products that offer extra hydration.
In terms of moisturizing products, the daily moisturizing lotion and moisturizing cream made headlines. Using either one has its benefits for a variety of skin conditions – but how do you find the right one for you?
Let’s first note the main differences between a cream and a lotion.
Cream & Lotion
Lotions tend to have a runny consistency since they contain more water than anything else. Skin that is oilier and doesn’t appear severely dry, cracked, or flaky will benefit from this.
Usually, a cream is composed of about half oil and half water. This produces a thicker and heavier consistency both when touched and when applied to the skin.
The purpose of the cream is to moisturize and reduce skin irritation, flaking, scaling, and redness, irrespective of how dry the skin may be.

It can provide some hydration without the weight and heaviness of other moisturizers.
Dermatologists recommend using this with sunscreen in the morning since it clearly claims to be a lightweight moisturizer. This moisturising cream has a thicker formula. This rich, non-greasy, fast-absorbing moisturizing cream was developed by dermatologists for dry and very dry skin.
It contains three essential ceramides which help lock in your skin’s moisture and restore its protective barrier, thereby improving the feel and appearance of even very dry skin.
Ceramides are found in everyone’s skin, but over time they may be lost due to things like sun exposure, exfoliation, or lack of proper skincare in general.
Incorporating additional ceramides into your daily skincare routine will replenish your skin and restore its healthiest state.
Using MVE technology, ceramides are encapsulated to ensure that they are delivered to the skin’s barrier efficiently over time. The result is a skin barrier that remains intact long after your application has ended.

Although both are fragrance-free moisturizers containing glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and ceramides, they are not the same.
Moisturizing Cream has a thicker consistency, while Daily Moisturizing Lotion is lightweight.
Many would say that it’s the consistency of CeraVe’s moisturizing lotion and cream that makes the major difference
As a rule, lotions are lighter than oils because they contain more water.

In the skincare world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when you’re just starting out. You’ll have a hard time finding your tried-and-true holy grail favourites among so many products targeting a million different skin issues.
Regardless of which one you choose; a lot of trial and error goes into finding the perfect skincare routine. There will be a lot of mistakes you’ll have to make before you figure out what the best products to use are. However, you also have to remember when you use them.
To be completely honest with you guys, it is still a process for me, but I certainly enjoy it a lot more since not only am I building this website to try to help you, but I am also learning something new about my skin every day since I recommend products and do research about it.
