Hey guys πŸ™‚ Here’s my second review!

In this post, I will be reviewing the famous CeraVe cleanser that everyone seems to be obsessed with.

Let me begin by telling you that it is popular for a reason. As a matter of fact, it ranks second among my favourite cleansers after using it for a while.

However, there are downsides to every product, and this cleanser is no exception to that rule.

Besides, keep on reading to find out more about the honest review that I will be leaving for this product, and I hope that you will decide whether it’s worth your hard-earned money or not. πŸ™‚

How did I come across the product?

Despite some trials and the use of numerous products with my dermatologist, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I did some research on products that could work for dry and sensitive skin. I came across a Healthline article where they recommended some cleansers for this condition. Their articles have changed my life and I have learned so much about skincare! For real!

I bought the cleanser after seeing it featured as the best cleanser for dry and sensitive skin, and I’m happy I did!

At that time, my face was so dry that I was ashamed to go out for fear that people would see how bad it looked. These were really tough times for me, and I still can’t believe I have overcome them! Thank God!

Just so you can get an idea, take a look at the pic below:

dry skin

This was even before I started using the CeraVe foam hydrating cleanser that is best used when wearing makeup (product review here).

When I first applied the cleanser to my face, I knew it was different from the cleanser that I had used before. I also knew that it was safe for my skin. From the moment I used it for the first time, I was in love with it.

The way it hydrated my skin while removing all the dirt left me feeling that my skin was revived and reborn!

Let’s take a look at the product features and then see what I like and dislike!

Product features & benefits

Product Review: CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser

  • The CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser removes dirt, makeup, and other debris without disrupting the skin’s natural protective barrier.
  • Cleanses and refreshes the skin without over stripping it or leaving it tight and dry.
  • It contains hyaluronic acid that hydrates the skin and three essential ceramides that help restore the skin’s protective barrier and lock in moisture. Key components for dry skin
  • Is a non-comedogenic face wash that is effective in removing dirt’s while not irritating the skin. This makes it suitable for sensitive skin
  • Additionally, it ensures the slow release of ceramides over time with MVE technology.

Who is this product for?

The product is ideal for people with normal to dry skin. However, you can also use it if you suffer from sensitive skin thanks to its gentle formula that does not strip the skin of its natural oils.

Oh yeah before I forget it is even suitable for people with eczema! In fact, it has been accepted by the National Eczema Association πŸ™‚

What I like πŸ™‚

The feeling it leaves on my face is pleasant to me. After washing my face, it feels hydrated, smooth, and moisturised!

There is even a feeling of cleanliness on my face after using it πŸ™‚

In addition, I like the consistency of the product. The cream looks more like a moisturiser than a cream, and it is light in texture.

Product Review: CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser

It is well tolerated by my sensitive skin.

In terms of the price, I think it’s fair since it can last for two months! I am not joking!

This is especially true if you have the larger size; the 1000ml! It can literally last you for months!

What I don’t like πŸ™

I have not found the cleanser to be effective at removing makeup, despite the product’s features. This was the main reason why I had to change the cleanser to its so-called foam formula the CeraVe for how ineffective it is when it comes to removing makeup.

Due to this reason, I would give it a 3.5 since I need to have a cleanser that also removes makeup well.

THE MAIN POINT HERE IS THAT whenever I needed to take off my makeup, I found it extremely difficult to do so with this cleanser. As a result, I began looking for alternatives, and at that point, I discovered the CeraVe foam hydrating cleanser, which is incredible at removing makeup (check out the review here).

Does not remove makeup effectively

Would I recommend the product?

Absolutely! Not only does it clean your face, but it also hydrates it leaving it smooth and soft!

The only downside is the fact that it does not remove makeup properly so I would not really suggest it for people that wear makeup daily. Instead, I would advise the Cerave hydrating foam cleanser which is extremely good at removing makeup. πŸ™‚

To conclude, Cerave is overall a good cleanser for dry sensitive skin given not only its gentle yet effective formula but also the ingredients that it contains.

The CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser, formulated with dermatologists, works to restore the skin’s natural barrier so that it can keep moisture in. So, you are definitely in good hands!

As far as removing makeup is concerned, that is the only issue. With that said, if you still want to give it a try, you can check it out either on Amazon, Boots or LookFantastic.
